2014-01-18: Tasmanian state elections have been called for mid March 2014, which is likely to impact on accommodation and flight availability at the time of our IGS Sea-Ice Symposium. Also, accommodation block-bookings will be released (ie rates will increase and available to public) by 05 Feb 2014. Please book your accommodation and flights etc. immediately to avoid disappointment. If you require an invitation letter, pls contact Petra asap with your details.

2013-12-10: An additional poster session on Up & Coming Research Opportunities will be offered during the IGS 2014 Sea-Ice Symposium. Information on current or planned field experiments, research facilities or science projects will be welcome. Please register your interest to display a poster/banner with Petra.

2013-11-26: All international delegates are advised to check visa requirements for their travel to Australia at their earliest convenience. While electronic visas can be issued at short-turn around, passport-embedded visas may require 10 working days plus shipping. Check the our travel summary for further information.

2013-11-20: C3 Convention Centre, the venue for the IGS 2014 Sea-Ice Symposium, is about 2.3km from the city centre, on the Metro Bus line in 64 Anglesea Street, South Hobart. C3 sits right on the Hobart Rivulet track, which allows one to walk up from the fringe of the city centre to C3 in a bushland setting. From the city centre it is about 1.2km to the start of Rivulet track, making for a 20 (30) minute downhill (uphill) walk. Pls refer to our map of Hobart with relevant locations is now available.
For those preferring to take the bus, there are a number of Metro buses (Hobart’s public transport system) that connect Anglesea Street with the city centre. The current Metro bus timetable from Hobart’s city centre to close to the venue can be downloaded here, with specially arranged buses for Monday, 10 March 2014, a public holiday in Australia.

2013-11-07: Applications are now open for seed funding for student/young scientist participation. Information is available online. Applications are due by 21 November 2013.

2013-09-20: Server outage due to urgent electrical work at IGS: Extension of abstract submission deadline to Monday, 23 September 2013 (22:59 UT).

2013-08-30: The abstract submission deadline has been deferred to Friday, 20 September 2013. Consequently the ‘Notification of acceptance’ will be delayed too.
